Students in two Information Technology and Web Science (ITWS) courses at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are getting a unique, hands-on experience by collaborating directly with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center research scientists on a critical global health issue regarding various disease outbreaks including Chikungunya and Rift Valley fever. This partnership is spearheaded by RPI faculty member Dr. Thilanka Munasinghe and Dr. Assaf Anyamba (of Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research/University of Maryland Baltimore County) and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

On October 25, 2025, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute community gathered for the annual Honors Convocation to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students and faculty who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and creativity.

Among this year’s honorees, several outstanding students from the Lally School of Management were recognized with the prestigious Founders Award of Excellence, one of Rensselaer’s highest distinctions.

You chose engineering because you love solving problems, thinking analytically, and building things that matter. You worked hard through tough classes, group projects, and late nights in the lab. Maybe you’ve just finished your degree or you're getting close. So what’s next? Some of your classmates are going into technical roles. Others are thinking about grad school to specialize even more. But there’s another option that more and more engineers are exploring especially those who want to lead, innovate, and create something of their own. That option is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at RPI’s Lally School of Management is built for students just like you.

At the Lally School of Management, student life is more than lectures, case studies, and classroom discussion; it’s a full-spectrum experience designed to cultivate leadership, collaboration, and real-world business acumen. One of the most dynamic ways students expand their learning and professional networks is through co-curricular clubs and organizations.
