The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is a global leader in management education at the nexus of business, science, and technology, offering distinctive programs that position students for success and leadership.
From Stephen Van Rensselaer's 1824 letter two centuries ago, outlining a university that provides distinctive and applied education "to the common purposes of life…with its application to the business of living," establishing the first technological university in the English-speaking world, to the establishment of RPI's Department of Arts, Science, and Business Administration in 1924, to the elevation of that department to a school of management in 1963, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Lally School of Management have an incredible history of pioneering top management programs. Throughout, these programs have prioritized student success, close ties to industry and the community, and a focus on excellence. Today, the Lally School of Management continues this unique approach and tradition.
New York's Capital Region is embracing its emergent status as a hub for innovation and growth in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and nano technologies, and these quantitative and technological aspects, including their business, analytical, and ethical considerations, are reflected in Lally's programs.
Lally embraces interdisciplinary learning, with curricula that dynamically evolve to develop leaders who are exemplary members of their communities, offering a learning environment that emphasizes smaller class sizes and a place to form lifelong relationships with incredible peers and mentors, extraordinary alumni, outstanding Rensselaer staff and community members, and faculty who are leaders in their disciplines.
Lally students regularly apply their learnings through hands-on experiences such as internships, student clubs, competitions, and industry-relevant research, with outstanding career placements and career growth.
