Welcome to the Lally School of Management
We are delighted and excited to welcome a new class of aspiring business leaders to campus this fall. As part of the country’s first technological university, the Lally School will provide you with a technology- and data-driven business education that equips you with the skills needed to solve complex problems and transform businesses.
To begin your journey at Rensselaer and the Lally School of Management, you’ll spend your first semester taking a variety of foundational management courses, enhancing your communication skills, and getting comfortable with data and data design.
Advisers will help at every step of your journey. All incoming students are reminded to refer to the Office of the First-Year Experience (FYE), for any questions beyond academics.
Get Started
We’ve broken down the process of registering for your first semester into three easy steps:
- Draft a class schedule
- Discuss a draft schedule with your adviser.
- Register for classes.
Fall 2024 Registration Dates and Deadlines:
- June 24-July 9: Advising Consultation and Fall Course Planning
- July 10-July 16: Course Registration
- August 28: Fall Semester Begins
- September 13: Last Day to Add Courses/Change Sections
Draft Your Schedule
To help you navigate the requirements needed to complete your degree, we’ve developed a curriculum outline for you to follow. You and your adviser will consult this document often as you progress through your education in business at Rensselaer. Please familiarize yourself with this document in preparation for registering for your first semester.
B.S. in Business Analytics Curriculum Outline
Now that you’ve reviewed the curriculum outline, you can get started building a draft schedule. We’ve included a guide of the courses you should be taking during your first semester below. As you consider courses and their place in your schedule, make note of each course registration number (a five-digit number unique to each section of any course). An example of this is MGMT 1100. The CRN is distinct to every class and you will use this number to register.
Fall 2024 Course Selection:
Below are the courses you should plan to take in Fall 2024. Review the courses descriptions in our catalog.
- MGMT 1100 – Management in the Digital Age
- This is a core introductory course that is a prerequisite for future business courses.
