Rensselaer Finance Club (RFC)

The Rensselaer Finance Club (RFC), established in 2023, is a student-run organization funded by the Lally School of Management. Designed to support students with academic, professional, and extracurricular interests in finance, the club offers a range of activities including guest speaker events, alumni networking opportunities, and investing competitions. RFC focuses particularly on helping students secure positions in top investment banks, with special emphasis on careers in sales and trading, equity research, capital markets, and investment banking. Through these initiatives, the club aims to enhance members' professional development and industry readiness.

WIB

Women in Business Club (WIB)

Women In Business (WIB), originally recognized as Women In Networking (WIN) was founded in 2018, and renamed in 2019. WIB is a student-run club with faculty and staff-advisors under the Lally School of Management that is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at RPI seeking to improve their professional, social, and personal skills. WIB is a social networking platform and a community that allows students interested in business to develop their soft skills in order to network effectively and create a more optimal career foundation.

Business Clubs and Organizations

Lally Marketing Student Association (LMSA)

Born out of the original Lally Management Association, the Lally Marketing Student Association was launched in 2024 in response to the development of the new Marketing and Advanced Computing major at Lally and a general interest from students to develop a co-curricular presence in this area. It is a student-run organization open to all majors with an interest in branding, advertising, digital media, and consumer strategy, The club provides opportunities for hands-on learning and professional growth by:

Engaging with Industry Experts: Through guest speakers and panel events, students will gain insights from marketing professionals across industries, learning about real-world challenges and career paths.

Building Professional Skills: Workshops and peer-led sessions will focus on résumé development, interview preparation, networking strategies, and personal branding.

Applying Knowledge in Practice: The club organizes projects and collaborations with local businesses, start-ups, and campus partners, giving members the chance to develop campaigns, conduct market research, and test creative ideas.

Competing on a National Stage: Members will have the option to participate in prestigious marketing competitions, showcasing their skills while representing the university.

With a balance of education, networking, and hands-on experiences, the LMSA empowers students to strengthen their professional toolkit, expand their connections, and prepare for impactful careers in marketing and related fields.

Rensselaer Consulting Club

The Rensselaer Consulting Club (RCC), founded in Spring 2025, is a student-run organization funded by the Lally School of Management. RCC aims to bridge the gap between academics and real-world challenges through consulting client projects, case interview preparation, consultant workshops, and speaker events. The club is dedicated to building a strong peer and alumni network for RPI students from all backgrounds.

Epsilon Delta Sigma Management Honor Society

Founded in 1948, the Rensselaer chapter of the Epsilon Delta Sigma Management Honor Society recognizes significant academic achievement in Lally. The society offers opportunities to develop leadership skills through projects associated with the business community.

Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society

An honor society that recognizes and honors top-performing students. To be a member, students must be recommended by a faculty member and rank in the upper 7% of their junior class or upper 10% of their senior class.

APICS Student Chapter

Student chapter of the Association for Operations Management, including Supply Chain Management. Meets concurrently with local chapter of the Capital Region.

CFA Institute

Investment Research Challenge

The annual Investment Research Challenge, organized by the Rensselaer Student Managed Fund and the Finance Club, is held each spring. The challenge aims to provide a platform for students who are interested in the investment field. Each team conducts in-depth research on a publicly traded company, prepares a written report on the selected company, and then presents its findings to a panel of judges.
