On November 13, RPI’s Lally School of Management and the Center for Career and Professional Development co-hosted the second annual Lally Industry Networking Night. The successful event brought together more than 150 students and alumni with representatives from leading employers for an evening of meaningful conversations, career exploration, and relationship building.
Designed specifically for Lally students and other information technology and business-oriented students on campus, the event offered a platform to connect classroom learning with real-world opportunities in business, analytics, finance, marketing, operations, and technology. Employers shared insights into industry trends and recruiting practices, while students practiced networking skills and explored potential internships and career paths.
Dean Liad Wagman emphasized the importance of these interactions in shaping the professional growth of Lally students:
“Events like this are where classroom learning meets career discovery. When students engage directly with potential employers, including alumni employers seeking to hire brilliant RPI students as both interns and full-time employees, they begin to see how their skills translate into meaningful opportunities, bridging their education with industry impact.”
Jackie McPhillips Balcerak, Manager of Student Services, highlighted the long-term value of these connections:
“The Lally Networking Night provides students with more than just a chance to meet employers, it helps them build confidence and develop professional relationships that lead to internships and full-time roles. It’s rewarding to see our extraordinary students and alumni connecting in ways that strengthen both their careers and the broader RPI community, with a unique focus on students who seek positions at the intersection of business, science, and technology, a hallmark of Lally's programs.”
The evening reflected Lally’s commitment to student excellence through experiential learning, professional engagement, and an unparalleled network of alumni and industry partners.
The Lally School of Management extends its sincere appreciation to the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) for their partnership and dedication in making this event a success.
