What is VITA?
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families. RPI is partnering with United Way of the Greater Capital Region to launch a new VITA site, giving students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while serving the local community.
Student volunteers will help community members prepare their taxes during the 2027 tax season. No previous tax experience is required, and training will be provided. RPI and United Way are seeking students interested in serving as volunteer tax preparers, as well as students interested in supporting the site as greeters.
