Celebrating the Class of 2025

On December 3, the Lally School of Management came together at the Heffner Alumni House to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the graduation of students completing their degrees this fall. The room buzzed with excitement and pride as faculty, staff, families, and classmates gathered for an afternoon filled with gratitude, laughter, personal reflection, and well-earned celebration.

A Ceremony Rooted in Resilience

Dean Liad Wagman opened the program with a thoughtful recognition of this class’s distinct journey. Many began their studies amid global uncertainty and finished during a period of unprecedented technological acceleration. Through every twist, challenge, and opportunity, they demonstrated what it means to embody the Lally spirit: showing up, leaning in, and forging ahead with purpose.

Student Voices at the Center

Two standout student speakers captured the heart of the day.

Undergraduate speaker Sophia Mazzariello reflected on her early years at RPI; the awkward starts, the accidental “whoops moments,” and the unexpected lessons that slowly shaped her confidence. Her message was a reminder that growth often hides in quiet places: late-night problem sets, encouraging mentors, and friendships that become anchors.

Graduate speaker Sushmitha Chittani shared her inspiring decision to return to school nearly a decade into her professional career, traveling across continents to join the Lally community. Her reflections showcased the boldness and resilience that international students bring to Lally. She also spoke to the power of community and the way shared support can turn moments of uncertainty into self-assurance.

The celebration continued with well-deserved recognition of students who went above and beyond during their time at Lally.
