Lally School of Management · Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Welcome to the Lally School of Management at RPI, where business meets science and technology, and ideas become impact.

Since Stephen Van Rensselaer founded this Institute in 1824 to advance “the business of living,” RPI has paired scientific discovery with practical problem solving. Today, that DNA powers Lally graduates who turn data-driven insights, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurial innovations into market-ready solutions that have an enduring effect in benefiting society. RPI is where contemporary experiential learning – learning by doing – was invented, dating back more than 200 years, with student experiences and hands-on projects strongly emphasized, and these are core components of how we teach at Lally.

A Business School Inside a Technological Powerhouse

Studying management at an extraordinary polytechnic university means you will prototype in makerspaces, code alongside industry-engaged faculty, and share classes with engineers, architects, and computer scientists. Whether you are exploring quantum computing, nanotechnology, or next-generation AI, you will gain fluency in both the language of strategy and the logic of code – an invaluable combination for the future of work.

Learning That Pays Off

Our intentionally small, discussion-rich classrooms ensure personal mentorship, while hands-on experiential projects, internships, and case competitions push you to apply concepts and ideas to real business and societal challenges. We develop and prepare graduates who are set to bring value to any organization from day one.

Lally curricula stay ahead of market trends, and our unrelenting focus on teaching you how to learn, adapt, stay curious, think critically, and be resilient, along with professional development and networking opportunities enhanced by RPI’s extraordinary alumni base, combine together to open doors to phenomenal internships and fulltime roles across business disciplines including finance, analytics, entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, and supply chain management.

Community & Impact

Join a tightknit network of highly-impactful peers, faculty, and alumni who innovate at the frontier of the global economy. We cultivate ethical leaders who excel in the marketplace, elevate their communities, and drive sustainable growth and innovation. Your success at Lally is measured not only by personal achievement but by the positive change you spark in the world.

I invite you to explore our STEM-focused undergraduate and graduate programs, engage with our world-class faculty scholars and outstanding staff, and discover how a Lally education positions you – and the organizations you will lead –  for lasting success.
