Dan Buckley is the president of Marvel Entertainment, where he is responsible for overseeing Marvel’s portfolio and franchises across publishing, digital, games, and licensing divisions as well as generating new content for Marvel’s direct-to-consumer initiatives.
After graduating from Lally with an MBA, Buckley joined Marvel in 1991 as part of its international licensing division. He held various leadership positions within the company before becoming vice president for marketing services in 1997. After spending some time as a leader for Omnicon Group Inc., he returned to Marvel in 2003 to serve as publisher. In this position, he was responsible for sustaining and growing all areas of Marvel publishing and reaching out to both new and lapsed readership.
Buckley has driven the evolution and growth of Marvel’s iconic characters and storytelling into new spaces. He also led a team that created more than 400 hours of live-action programming and 200 hours of animated programming, including a number of Emmy-nominated and award-winning live-action series.
