The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute offers a variety of scholarship and fellowship opportunities to help support students pursuing graduate business degrees. These funding opportunities are available to highly qualified applicants and are based on academic achievement, leadership potential, relevant work experience, and, in some cases, U.S. citizenship.

How to Apply for a Lally Fellowship

To be considered for a Lally fellowship:

  • Use your personal statement to explain why you are a strong candidate.
  • Include your academic and career goals, relevant experiences, technical skills, and leadership qualities.

Named Fellowships for Lally MBA Students

The Irene and Robert P. Bozzone ’55 Fellowship in Management and Technology

This competitive fellowship provides significant financial support to an MBA student with a strong interest and skillset in manufacturing and technology.

  • Eligibility: U.S. citizens only
  • Selection criteria: Academic excellence, technical proficiency, and manufacturing-related background

The Herman Family Fellowship for Women in Entrepreneurship

Established by Michael ’62 and Karen Herman, this fellowship supports women pursuing entrepreneurship through an MBA at Lally.

  • Eligibility: Open to domestic and international students
  • Selection criteria:
    • Entrepreneurial experience or spirit
    • Post-college work experience
    • Leadership ability
    • Technical and academic excellence
  • Recipients join the Herman Family Fellows Network, with access to annual alumni reunions and peer connections

The Reinert-Rader Fellowship in Financial Technology

This fellowship supports graduate students focused on finance and financial technology at Lally.

  • Eligibility: U.S. citizens only
  • Funded by: Jerome S. Reinert ’56 and Lawrence A. Rader ’58

Raymond A. and Ina C. Best Fellowship for Tau Beta Pi Members

This fellowship is awarded to members of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society, pursuing a graduate business degree.

  • Eligibility: Tau Beta Pi members applying to a master’s program
  • Selection criteria:
    • First-time graduate students
    • Strong academic performance
    • Faculty recommendations
    • Extracurricular or community leadership

Scholarships for U.S. Veterans

Post-9/11 GI Bill & Yellow Ribbon Program

The Lally School participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program, helping U.S. veterans and their dependents afford graduate education.

National Founder’s Graduate Business Student Scholarship

This is an external, private scholarship not affiliated with Lally or Rensselaer but may be applied toward tuition if awarded.

Merit-Based Scholarships (Automatically Considered)

All applicants to Lally’s MBA or M.S. programs are automatically considered for generous merit-based scholarships. There is no separate application required—simply submit a strong, complete application to be reviewed for potential funding.
