Epsilon Delta Sigma

About EDS

Founded in 1968, Epsilon Delta Sigma (EDS) is the Lally School of Management’s oldest honor society. EDS recognizes outstanding undergraduate students in management who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and service. As the altruistic arm of the Lally School, EDS members actively contribute to the School and broader community through volunteer work, mentorship, and collaboration with faculty and staff.

Current Officers

  • President: Jade Moynihan
  • Event Coordinator: Noah Gecht
  • Treasurer: Samantha Heinzman
  • Secretary: Emilia Rojik

Our Mission

  • Recognize academic achievement in management.
  • Strengthen student–faculty connections through open dialogue.
  • Support the development of Lally’s programs, curriculum, and student community.
  • Serve the broader Rensselaer and Troy communities through service initiatives

How to Join

Membership into EDS is by invitation only. Each spring, the Executive Board reviews eligible students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate management program at RPI.
  • Completed at least 44 credit hours.
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of induction (with a 3.25 GPA required to remain active).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and involvement in extracurricular and community activities.

Selected students are invited to join and must sign the EDS Membership Agreement confirming their commitment. Induction ceremonies are held each spring semester, though exceptional students may be inducted at other times.

Expectations of Members

  • Attend monthly meetings (September–April).
  • Volunteer at least two Lally-sponsored or endorsed events per semester.
  • Act as a sounding board for student and faculty ideas.
  • Continue developing leadership skills through service on the EDS Executive Board or in other leadership roles.
  • Serve as professional mentors to future students as alumni

Why Join?

Membership in EDS is both an honor and a responsibility. Students gain opportunities to:

  • Collaborate closely with faculty, administrators, and peers.
  • Contribute to shaping the Lally student experience.
  • Build leadership and professional skills.
  • Join a tradition of service and excellence dating back more than 50 years.
